Hi Everyone
The Frogley Family originated in Denchworth, Berkshire, England and began emigrating to America in the 1600's. My ancestors moved to Australia in 1848, following a smallpox epidemic in Denchworth. This family's earliest records occur in 1421 under the name of Froddeslie, William and his children in Denchworth Berkshire. The Frogleys on arrival in Sydney aboard the 'Emporer' 1848, moved to the west and firstly settled around Bathurst before moving on to Molong, Parkes, Wellington, Glen Innes and Queensland.
My ancestor is John Frogley B.1801 Denchworth, Berkshire, England and his son Richard Frogley who married Ellen Brown. His parents are John Frogley and Bet Belchar. My family were mainly farmers in the 1800-1900's.
My initial search of the family tree commenced 30 years ago and I have travelled around New South Wales and Queensland, Australia to obtain data and relevant sources. This search has been long and interesting with assitance by many people including Helen Hillery, Zeta Waters, Geoffrey Frogley, and Briony, Donna, Sally and David. Denis Woolaston, Nel Woolaston and Jill Macansh Woolaston who all gave me great support years ago when I initially commenced this hobby.
Sources include the Newcastle Library, Tamworth Libary, Tamworth Historical society, many websites and original parish records.
I am very iterested in your feedback with regards to the information I have provided and look forward to hearing from you.
Jill
